Pablo Casado, was born in 1982 in Madrid, Spain, where he has lived and developed both personally and academically. He worked during several years in his family business, a pharmacy, run first by his grandfather and then by his father.

Although he always felt a special attraction towards the shapes of Arabic calligraphy, it was not until 2008 when he contacted the reed pen for the first time, when he attended a brief introductory course to nesih calligraphy. Only a few days of practicing this art were enough to awaken a deep interest in him, and he soon felt the need to receive further instruction from a real master who could transmit him this ancient knowledge. It was at that point when he met Nuria García, the renowned calligrapher who later became his mentor and master. Guided by her, he traveled to Istanbul for the first time in 2009, and thanks to her he could get acquainted with her masters. This is how he started writing his first lessons with her help, and with the master calligrapher (hattat) Davut Bektas, and always under the supervision of the master Hassan Çelebi. Around two years later, he started taking lessons from the master hattat Ferhat Kurlu who, together with Nuria García, became one of his strongest influences.

In 2014, and after having devoted himself completely to learning this art, he received his icazet or calligraphy diploma in sülüs and nesih styles in IRCICA (Research Center for Islamic History Art and Culture), signed by the masters Hassan Çelebi, Ferhat Kurlu and Nuria García.

Currently, he continues traveling regularly to Istanbul and spending long periods there in order not to lose contact with his masters and with the purpose of continuing learning and refining his work.

Pablo Casado, nació en 1982 en Madrid, España, ciudad donde creció y se formó académicamente. De abuelo y padre farmacéutico, trabajó durante varios años en la farmacia perteneciente a su familia.

Siempre sintió una especial atracción hacia las formas de la caligrafía árabe, pero no fue hasta el año 2008 cuando pudo tener su primer contacto con el cálamo asistiendo a un breve curso de introducción a la caligrafía en el estilo nesih. Unos pocos días de práctica bastaron para despertar en él un gran interés hacia esta forma de arte, y pronto sintió la necesidad de recibir todo el conocimiento de manos de un verdadero maestro que le pudiera enseñar todos y cada uno de los detalles. Fue entonces cuando conoció a la ya consagrada y reconocida calígrafa Nuria García, quien se convertiría en su mentora y maestra. De su mano viajó por primera vez a Estambul en el año 2009, y gracias a ella pudo conocer a sus propios maestros. Así comenzó a escribir las primeras lecciones con su ayuda, con la ayuda del maestro calígrafo (hattat) Davut Bektas, y siempre bajo la supervisión del maestro Hassan Çelebi. Aproximadamente dos años más tarde empezó también a recibir lecciones del maestro hattat Ferhat Kurlu, quien se convertiría, junto con Nuria García, en uno de sus más influyentes maestros.

En 2014, y después de haberse dedicado por completo al aprendizaje de este arte, recibió su icazet o diploma de caligrafía en los estilos sülüs y nesih en IRCICA (Centro de Investigación de la Historia, el Arte y la Cultura Islámica). Finalmente su diploma sería firmado por los maestros Hassan Çelebi, Ferhat Kurlu y Nuria García.

Actualmente sigue acudiendo regularmente a Estambul y pasando allí largas temporadas para no perder el contacto con sus maestros y poder seguir aprendiendo y perfeccionando.
